About the Blue Grass Festival

The second annual Amboy Bluegrass and Old Time Music Festival will take place June 19-22, 2008 at Amboy Territorial Park in Amboy, Washington. The Festival will feature over 13 bands, at least two stages, instrument contests for trophies and prestige, instrument workshops with great local teachers, food and drink vendors, hand made artist show and sale, kids workshops, open mikes, square dancing hosted by Bill Martin (Friday Night after the show at the grange hall), community covered jamming areas, indoor and outdoor events and old time demonstrations. This year the festival adds the “Miss Winnebago” beauty pageant for the bluegrass widows.

The bands performing this year include: Runaway Train, Urban Monroes, Deadwood Revival, Great Northern Planes, Kathy Boyd and Phoenix Rising, Wide River, Chickweed, Whiskey Puppy, Puddletown Ramblers, Dewgrass, Small Towne, George Chudacoff, and Reggie Miles. Instrument Workshops taught by some of the Northwest's best musicians.

Park is lit at night for easy jamming. Indoor hot showers/bathrooms are promised to be finished by the festival opening day. Park is across the street from a grocery store and walking distance to restaurants. Come enjoy a beautiful venue and a great weekend with a small town feel. Help keep the great bluegrass tradition alive and support local music.
